Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Children’s Development UK

Children’s Development UK helps children and young people understand how they learn, grow, and experience the world. We provide assessments and support to help families and professionals better understand a child’s needs.

Our Service

We offer assessments such as autism assessments, ADHD assessments, and general developmental checks. We also provide advice and support based on your child’s needs. We use careful and evidence-based methods to understand your child as fully as possible.

Booking Appointments

Appointments must be booked in advance and are confirmed once payment has been received. Before your appointment, you will need to complete all forms and questionnaires. If these forms are not completed, your appointment may need to be delayed or rescheduled.

Payments

We will clearly explain the cost of your assessment before you book. You may be able to pay in full or in agreed instalments. Your report will be shared with you once full payment has been received.

Cancelling or Changing Appointments

If you cancel your appointment more than seven days before the appointment date, you will receive a full refund, although a small administration fee may be kept. If you cancel less than seven days before your appointment, you will receive a partial refund or be offered a new appointment. If you do not attend your appointment, you will not receive a refund. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to make changes.

About Assessments

We use professional knowledge and experience when carrying out assessments. Our reports are based on the information available at the time. We cannot promise that an assessment will lead to a diagnosis.

Keeping Children Safe

We have a duty to keep children safe at all times. If we are worried about a child’s safety or wellbeing, we may need to share information with other services. We will usually tell you when we do this, but in some situations, we may need to act quickly.

Consent (Permission)

A parent or legal guardian must give permission for an assessment. Where possible, we will also ask the child or young person how they feel about taking part. Older young people may be able to give their own consent if they understand the assessment. You can stop the assessment at any time, but this may affect our ability to complete the work.

Your Information

We take care to keep your information safe. We follow UK data protection laws and store information securely. We will only share information when it is necessary or when you have agreed, unless there is a safeguarding concern.

Reports

Reports are written for you and for professionals supporting your child. Reports must not be changed or copied without our permission. We will tell you when your report will be ready, typically this will be ready in 3-6 weeks.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with any part of our service, you can contact us. We will respond within 3 working days and aim to resolve your concern within 20 working days.

Being Open and Honest

If something goes wrong, we will tell you what has happened, explain why, and take steps to put things right.

Questions

If you have any questions, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

Financial Policy

Children’s Development UK

Overview

This policy explains how fees, payments, refunds, and packages are managed at Children’s Development UK. We aim to be clear, fair, and transparent so that families understand costs and expectations before starting an assessment.

Fees

All fees are provided before booking and reflect the time required for clinical assessment, preparation, scoring of assessment tools, multidisciplinary input where applicable, and report writing. Fees may vary depending on the type and complexity of the assessment.

Deposits and Booking

A deposit is required to secure your appointment. Your booking is only confirmed once the deposit has been received. If a deposit is not paid, the appointment may be offered to another family.

Instalment Payments

We offer instalment plans to support families where needed. Instalment plans must be agreed in advance of the assessment.

Typically, the payment structure includes a deposit at the time of booking, followed by one or more scheduled payments. The full balance must be paid before the final report is released.

If an instalment is missed, we may pause the assessment process until payment is received.

Full Payment

Families may choose to pay the full fee upfront at the time of booking. This secures the appointment and allows the assessment process to proceed without interruption.

Reports and Outstanding Balances

Clinical reports will only be released once the full balance has been paid. If payment is outstanding, the report will be held securely until payment is completed.

Cancellations and Refunds

If you cancel your appointment more than seven days before the scheduled date, you will usually receive a full refund, although an administration fee may be deducted.

If you cancel within seven days of your appointment, you may receive a partial refund or be offered a new appointment, depending on the circumstances and clinician availability.

If you do not attend your appointment without notice, you will not receive a refund.

Rescheduling

If you need to change your appointment, we will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative date. Changes requested with less than seven days’ notice may be treated as a late cancellation.

Packages

Where assessment packages are offered, the full cost of the package will be agreed before booking.

Packages may include multiple appointments, observations, or follow-up sessions. These are priced as a whole and are not usually refundable once started.

If part of a package is unused, this will not normally be refunded unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Early Withdrawal from Assessment

If you choose to stop the assessment after it has started, a partial refund may be considered. This will depend on the work already completed, including clinical time, scoring, and report preparation.

Late Payments and Non-Payment

If payment is not received on time, we may delay appointments, pause the assessment process, or withhold reports.

In cases of continued non-payment, we reserve the right to withdraw services and, where necessary, pursue outstanding fees through appropriate processes.

Exceptional Circumstances

We understand that unexpected situations can occur. We will consider flexibility in cases such as illness, emergencies, or safeguarding concerns. Any decisions will be made fairly and on a case-by-case basis.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Financial Policy from time to time. The most recent version will always be available on our website.
